In recent years, the amount of housing fraud at housing associations has increased significantly. In order to tackle this more effectively, Stadlander has been exchanging BRP data with the municipality of Tholen since 2019. What is required to share such data, how does this help prevent housing fraud, and what has the corporation gained so far? CorporatieGids Magazine spoke with Eric Vermijs, Information and Functional Management Officer at Stadlander.<\/p>\n\n
Having the connection between Stadlander and the municipality of Tholen offers several advantages. \u201cFirst of all, it is much more secure. Privacy-sensitive data no longer needs to be sent by email. In addition, the connection is configured in such a way that only Stadlander\u2019s housing fraud team can access the data, and only the data of our own tenants. So it is not the case that we can view the data of all residents of Tholen. Furthermore, information about minors is additionally protected, so we only receive core information about adult residents.”<\/p>\n\n
\u201cThe turnaround time of the housing fraud process has also been significantly reduced,\u201d Eric continues. \u201cAs I mentioned, it is great that you can access the data directly, even on a Friday evening. But even during regular working days it could sometimes take quite a while, up to a week, before we received the information. If you need to act quickly with the police or our cannabis investigation team, that delay costs valuable time.\u201d<\/p><\/p>\n\n
